CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY MAJOR
Moody Bible Institute
The Children and Family Ministry major at Moody Bible Institute exists to train effective, capable, and passionate ministry leaders to create disciples out of the next generation. We believe that ministry to children can—and should—be about more than coloring sheets and childcare. It is about communicating the truth of God to the youngest members of our communities, so that they too may form personal relationships with Christ and learn to serve and worship him with their whole lives.
With this aim, Moody’s Children and Family Ministry major focuses on learning developmentally appropriate teaching methods, forming a cohesive theological, philosophical and methodological foundation for children’s ministry, and giving students hands-on experience in real ministry situations. This major also boasts of highly invested and experienced faculty, a caring community atmosphere, and personal attention to each student to develop their individual gifts and foster their relationship with Christ.
Upon graduation, students are prepared to serve in any number of different positions, including (but certainly not limited to) as children’s ministry directors, camp administrators, curriculum developers, missionaries, and directors of parachurch organizations.
